One photo is the broad healthy leaves and the other is of the plant struggling. Both plants are currently putting out 2 clusters of cherry tomatoes (unhealthy is in a pot & from a friend’s garden and the healthy one is in the ground & from a nursery; both organic)

Soil looks dry. They like a lot of water, especially when it’s hot.

Plants look good! Potted one just needs more regular watering; your soil looks dry. Pots dry out faster than ground. Keep watering steady and both will do great! 🍅💦

This is a bad year for tomatoes. 🍅😔 I would keep it well watered and use a trellis.

I can not give mine enough water this year. It is constant, and none of them have ripened red yet. Going to paper bag & banana these bad boys or I’m going to end up with nothing but green tomatoes to fry!

Thanks everyone! I’m glad to know the issue is human error and not disease. I wanted to keep 1 of the 8 tomato plants I have in a pot to see what the outcome would be. But apparently it’s “whoops- I forgot you existed!”

  7. Tomatoes need to be planted deep. Large pots of soil. 15 gallons or larger are my preference. Be careful of small pots that are dark in color. The sun will heat them up fast and they will dry out faster. Calcium, coffee grounds, and buried banana peels are my favorite fertilizers.
Spray leaves with water and epsome salt mix every 2-3 days.

A lot of water and a lot of nourishment. They’re thirsty and heavy feeders.

this year is too hot for tomatoes they don’t like this heat.

Pot seems too small so probably also root bound.
